Planets & Human Life - Part 4

Mars and Conflicts

When this warrior planet is afflicted, it easily gives rise to quarrels, power struggles, and open confrontations. Anger is primarily associated with Mars, and its affliction leaves the individual unable to control his temper. The specific house and zodiac sign occupied by Mars in the birth chart reveal exactly where and over what issues you are most likely to get embroiled in bitter disputes. The 8th house is the house of transformation; therefore, the 8th aspect of Mars is considered a major trigger for sudden conflict.

This fiery planet can either strengthen relationships or ignite conflicts. For instance, Mars in the second house might inspire a person to embrace family values and build strong relationships, or it could trigger family disputes over money and family resources. A weak and afflicted Mars can lead to the following outcomes:

·        A tendency to get angry easily

·        Reacting impulsively and in a hurtful manner

·        Marital discord

·        Frequent arguments in relationships

·        Tense, competitive, or hostile relationships with siblings

·        Power struggles with a partner or family members

·        Susceptibility to high blood pressure, cuts, and burns

·        Accidents or injuries involving bleeding

Misusing the energy of Mars diminishes its potential to yield positive results. It reduces a person's endurance and makes their temperament irritable. When this energy exerts a negative influence, it can lead to recurring injuries, burns, or accidents. It creates a likelihood of constant friction with teammates or partners. The individual's ability to listen to others diminishes; such people tend to talk excessively and remain adamant about having their own way. They are often restless and always ready to pick a fight with anyone.

When this volatile energy becomes unbalanced and uncontrolled, it leads to heated arguments, emotional clashes, and attempts by partners to dominate others. When an argument begins, they speak rapidly, yet neither party listens to the other. When the energy of Mars is excessively active or unbalanced, it is often linked to elevated cortisol levels (the stress hormone) or a hyperactive nervous system—manifesting as physical restlessness, anger, and pent-up energy that makes it difficult to find peace or relaxation at home.
